Light snow is expected to begin this afternoon dropping about two inches of snow in the region, the agency said.
The precipiation should change to freezing rain during the early Wednesday morning hours. There could be another two inches of snow accumulation during the early hours Wednesday morning, the agency said.
The rain could be heavy at times causing slushy spots, ice and flooding especially in areas of poor drainage, the agency said.

Commuters and residents should be wary off icy sidewalks and messy road conditions, the agency said.
