Three female University of Delaware students were robbed at gunpoint Tuesday night while walking in a parking lot, Newark police spokesman Lt. Thomas Lemin said today.
The robbery occurred in the University Courtyard Apartment complex parking lot in the 700 block of Scholar Drive just before 10:30 p.m., Lemin said.
The students were approached by a man who displayed a handgun and money and property, Lemin said.
The students complied, then the suspect fled the area in a dark four-door sedan.
No one was injured, Lemin said.
A detailed description of the suspect was not available.
Anyone with information should call Newark police at 366-7110, ext. 133, or Crime Stoppers at (800) TIP-3333.
