A little snow and a big freeze ahead

|

Snow showers today will be followed by the coldest air mass of the season, the National Weather Service says.
The snow showers could produce accumulations up to an inch across Delaware and nearby areas. Localized snow squalls in northern Pennsylvania and New Jersey may bring blowing snow and reduced visibility, and an inch or two accumulation. Driving conditions could be hazardous in any squalls, the service said.
Temperatures will be in the mid teens across Delaware by Friday morning, and in single digits in areas to the north.
Winds are expected to increase to about 20 mph on Thursday night, and the wind chill will drop to around zero in Delaware and below zero in northern Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
A thunderstorm is possible tonight.
Winds Friday will be around 20-25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.
